Dear Parler Paris Reader,

What's up for La Rentrée in the City of Light? Beaucoup! Here's a sneak preview of just a few things you can plan on doing:

September 2: Trace the 150 years of the 20 arrondissements of Paris at this special exhibition by the Comité d'Histoire de la Ville de Paris at the Galerie des Bibliothèques, 22 rue Malher (4th). Visit http://www.paris.fr/ for more information.

September 4: It's earlier than usual this year, but the Parler Parlor French-English Conversation Group is serving up sandwiches and offering up a deal on membership cards when you show up on Saturday, September 4th at 11 a.m. It's free and it's fun. Come about 5 minutes ahead to get your spot. Visit http://www.parlerparlor.com for more information.

September 3: Heavy Metal band Guns n' Roses with Axl Rose, Izzy Stradlin and the L.A. Gun sis performing at Bercy. Click here to reserve: Hard-rock-Metal-GUNS-N-ROSES-GUNS

September 14: Parler Paris Après Midi meets up after the August vacation from 3 to 5 p.m. to welcome anyone and everyone who wants to get to know other Parler Paris readers. It's casual, it's free and it's fun. Don't miss it. Visit parlerparis/apresmidi for more information.

September 18-19: Le Journées Européennes du Patrimoine 2010 will exceptionally open the doors to the public to discover public buildings (the Elysée Palace, the Senate, ministries, embassies, prefectures, town halls, as well as, theatres, hospitals, schools, gymnasiums, etc...) and private buildings (villas, chateaux, factories, etc...) unveiling what goes on behind the scenes and ‘secret’ collections.

That weekend, sadly I'll be missing the European Heritage Days in France but will be discovering the faux Parisian world of Paris Las Vegas while attending and speaking at theInternational Living Live and Invest Overseas Conference. Stay tuned for my report from the city known as "Glitter Gulch." Visit journeesdupatrimoine.culture for more information.

September 20: If Guns isn't enough, Ozzy Osbourne, the "Prince of Darkness," who actually tore off the head of a bat with his teeth on stage in 1982 will also be performing at Bercy to celebrate his new Scream album. Reserve your seat if you dare at Hard-rock-Metal-OZZY-OSBOURNE-OZZYO

September 22: Painter Claude Monet (1840-1926) will make a big retrospective statement at two exhibitions -- the first opening September 22nd at the Grand Palais (through January 23rd, 2011) and the second at Le Marmottan opening October 5th. I suggest you get your tickets now or be prepared to form the queue! Visit grandpalais and marmottan for more information.

That's plenty for now, right?

A la prochaine...
